Self-determination is key. People who own an idea muster more powerful internal resources.
Sometimes dysfunctional behaviour is confused with self-determination. Then we have a travesty of self-determination – like smoking, denigrating other people, pushiness or yes-butting.
Understanding the intrinsic power of self-determination in others is a key in leadership. If we try to help others we need a constant reminder:
– without inner decision -> no transformation – only deformation.
– self-determination is trainable – on a self-determined basis!
